OBJECTIVE Create a visual system for an existing event or conference in 6 weeks. Create applications to help showcase the system. That Lady Thing is a pop-up installation, born in San Francisco, raised on social media. Their events bring light to issues regarding women’s rights through guest speakers, interactive exhibitions, and providing space for networking.
APPROACH I wanted to create a lady-like, versatile, and campaigning identity to embrace the idea that being lady-like can look empowering and feminine at the same time. The idea of the logo having a frame is inspired by the idea of rectangular signs in marches, which provide statements of empowerment to push a movement forward. This theme and visual system is carried through with bold statements that inspire and empower.
